Overview
At a broadcast and software solutions company that had to decide quickly whether to enter a new security market created by enterprise LLM adoption, I carried out the feasibility study on my own.
Problem
As enterprises rapidly adopted LLMs, new security risks such as prompt injection and sensitive data leakage emerged. The company had to decide within a short time whether to enter this new market.
Approach
I researched the domestic and global AI security technology market and tested competitors’ solutions myself (benchmarking). I then quantified the market by estimating TAM/SAM/SOM and summarized the work in entry scenarios that leverage the company’s assets and a feasibility report.
Results
Built the case for entering the new business through domestic and global competitor benchmarking and market sizing, wrote the feasibility report on my own, and won executive approval.
Lessons Learned
A feasibility study isn’t a document that forces a conclusion; it lets decision-makers reach the conclusion on their own. The bigger the TAM, the more the evidence behind the SOM matters.
